Project Type TCU Stage 3 20bar
Description

Gearbox file that highlights the required changes to various limiters in calibration for increasing the clutch pressure up to 20 bar. This version was chosen because there is a damos floating around exactly for this version online, so you can easily see/transfer the changes.

NB!
Besides the changes in calibration of this file, you must also apply this patch, as all limiters can not be fixed in calibration:
https://tools.vehical.net/DQ250Patch

The patch is not contained in this file, because it is non-trivial to copy it over to different software versions (a dozen locations must be patched in code). The price of this file also reflects this. Total price with the patch is 35 credits.

Objective changes (required for increasing pressure):

  • Engine torque limit increased to 630Nm
  • Clutch torque limit increased to 655 Nm (clutch torque is an internal parameter back-calculated from clutch coarseness and clutch pressure, it is not connected to the engine torque).
  • Clutch pressure sensor diagnostic limit increased
  • Maximum solenoid current increased
  • Maximum solenoid duty cycle increased
  • Line pressure linearized higher and maximum increased
  • Line pressure offset optimized

Subjective changes (example of what can be done, but not mandatory):

  • Maximum engine RPM increased to 7200 (diagnostics)
  • Upshift speed increased
  • Downshift speed increased
  • Upshift and downshift torque gradient maximums increased
  • Launch control: delay decreased after lifting brake pedal
  • Launch control: torque ramping limiter removed
  • Launch control: speed based torque limiter increased

The shift RPM and launch control target maps have not been modified in any way, because this is individual for every project.

You still have to report the correct torque from the ECU. If you report 2x lower torque the gearbox can still slip as the slip terminator is catching up. With a Bosch gasoline ECU KFMIRL/KFMIOP should be linear and MDNORM should be high enough to report the correct torque (Continental will just work if nm to mg/str is not decalibrated). With diesels nm->iq and duration should not be decalibrated.

If it is for some reason impossible to report the correct torque, and the torque is non-linear (e.g. KFMIRL rising faster at higher torque values), then it is possible to correct the clutch torque using:
Kad_MKupSollMod_kl[K1]
Kad_MKupSollMod_kl[K2]
After the switch Kad_EnMKupMod_ko has been enabled.

Finally, keep in mind that the adaptation values are not decalibrated in this file, so the gearbox will run the correct pressure that is needed to just keep the clutch from slipping. It will not run 20 bar at 400 Nm or anything else unnecessary. If your gearbox is not slipping, then you do not need these modifications, because nothing will change.
